Went to LaCabanita because it open late. The staff was very friendly and funny. Must be family owned. I prefer that. Great selection of food on the menu. Ordered a few items and they all were delicious. Highly recommend.
Amazingly tasty dish!! This is Chilaquiles. It’s only 8.75 and can definitely feed two people! And comes with 2 or 3 eggs (forgot if it’s was 2 or 3). Choices of green or red spice. I always take the red spice. Probably the spiciest dish I have ever had in my life by incredibly tasty! I always drive 20-25 minutes from Chicago to eat this. Worth it!!
the 1 star review where someone said there were flies and gnats everywhere? my dad and i have never seen a single bug or fly there. we love it. food is consistently good and the staff are the nicest people. owner always remembers me and my order, excited to see me and is so helpful. the one star reviews have gotta be for another place, cuz this place is the absolute best. (and my favorite)
This food is to die for. Ate here last night got 4 tacos and they were awesome. Was in the area again so came back the next day for lunch and it was even better. Service is amazing and atmosphere as well top notch. 10/10 definitely recommend

It was my first time here, as soon as I walked in i was greeted with a positive attitude and seated quickly. The steak tacos were one of the best I've ever had, they had so much flavor and juicy. Phenomenal service as well. I will be coming back soon.
La Cabanita has been a neighborhood staple for years- and for good reason. The food is honest and homemade, and is very good. The atmosphere is fun and unstuffy, and they have a small outside seating area as well. Traffic on Ogden Avenue is loud but that's not their fault and besides, the hustle and bustle just adds to the feel.
Cute little hole in the wall authentic restaurant. Delicious homemade food, friendly staff, realistic prices. Only small seating, so be prepared to wait if you have a large party, but worth it.
